We’ve Accomplished Great Things, and Together We’ll Accomplish Even More
At NYU Winthrop Hospital, we have a strong legacy of providing world-class care.
Throughout our history, we’ve pioneered new services and new technologies. Today, we have one of the premier cardiac programs in the region, and one of the top transcatheter aortic valve replacement centers in the country. We’re a leader in diabetes treatment and education, and were the first major teaching hospital in New York State to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for our advanced inpatient diabetes care. Our CyberKnife® Center, which provides noninvasive treatment for cancers of the brain, spine, and soft tissues, was the first of its kind in the New York metro area. Our Breast Health Center was the first in Nassau County to be certified by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. We’re a Magnet® recognized facility, and we have received a Baby Friendly® designation by Baby-Friendly USA.
Yet despite all this, we’re constantly seeking to improve even more. We know that the future of healthcare is dependent on attracting the best talent in the world, and giving them the resources to improve the lives of others. If you feel the same, and are looking for a world-class organization to call home, then discover new opportunities with us today.
Providing World-Class Care for Over a Century
NYU Winthrop Hospital was founded in 1896 by a group of local physicians and concerned citizens. Today we’re a nationally recognized leader in health, providing exceptional care to Nassau County and beyond both at our 591 bed flagship hospital and in our many outpatient facilities.
We’re ever changing and growing much like the diverse communities we serve. However, no matter how large we grow, we’re dedicated to maintaining the personal approach and compassion that spurred our foundation over a hundred years ago.
It’s this progressive philosophy, sophistication, and inquiry that stands as the cornerstone of our organization, because at NYU Winthrop Hospital “Your Health Means Everything.”
New Partnerships for New Opportunities
Winthrop Hospital has affiliated with NYU Langone Health in order to expand, enhance, and clinically integrate their healthcare networks on Long Island. Paramount to this momentous partnership is our shared mission—that of providing unparalleled care to our communities. Our health facilities will now gain access to additional world-class resources. Our employees will now benefit from the extended NYU Langone Health network.
As stated at the time, “Since the founding of Winthrop over 100 years ago, it has been the responsibility of its Board of Directors to ensure that the hospital delivers the highest quality healthcare to the population it serves. Each member of our Board takes that responsibility very seriously. We are confident that this affiliation with NYU Langone will allow us to deliver even higher quality care for the next 100 years and beyond.”
